What the Gate Hub coordinates
UniFi Access Gate Hub supports common sliding, single- and double-leaf swing, barrier, and roll-up garage applications, plus a pedestrian side door. It provides the bridge between UniFi readers, intercoms, cameras, credentials, and a compatible third-party operator.
The hub does not replace the motor controller. It signals a properly designed operator and receives the necessary state and safety inputs. Before network commissioning, the gate must already operate safely through its intended controls.

Getting dependable network service to the gate
Long driveways and separate electrical environments demand more than an extender. Fiber is attractive where conduit exists because it supports distance and electrical isolation. A focused wireless bridge can work where trenching is unreasonable and line of sight is stable. Protected copper may fit shorter controlled pathways.
At the gate we plan an outdoor-rated enclosure, PoE capacity, service loops, cable protection, equipment temperature, surge strategy, backup power expectations, and future ports for additional cameras or readers.

Commissioning access without creating surprises
The finished system should be tested as a sequence: visitor calls, resident response, credential grant, operator trigger, open-state monitoring, safe closing, loss of network, loss of primary power, and administrative review.
UniFi makes remote operation convenient, which makes account ownership and permissions especially important. The property owner should control the console, know who can open the gate remotely, and have a documented manual and emergency operating process.
